Deacon Nomination Process
Any member that believes a member meets qualifications for serving as a Deacon and would like to see that person considered for nomination should personally talk with that member to see if they would be willing to be considered for nomination and if so, then either of the two persons could request that the name be included on the list for potential nomination. Any member meeting qualifications and desiring to have their name placed on a list for consideration for the office of deacon should contact the church office and request to have their name placed on the list for potential nomination.
Names should be submitted by Second Sunday in March (March 10 2024)
A list of nominees will be in the Journey for two weeks prior to the nomination/selection Sunday, which is typically the first Sunday in April (April 7, 2024) This list should be used by membership to prayerfully consider those that they are led to select. During this consideration, it should be kept in mind that this is not a popularity contest, but a process to select a servant in the House of our Lord.
Qualifications
· 25 years of age or older
· active member for the past 24 months
· active in the financial support of the Church
· actively supports the programs of the church.
· previous, positive experience in leadership and Christian ministry
· willing to accept the duties and responsibilities of a deacon
· personal traits and expectations derived from Scripture
