Hominy Child Care

Hominy Child Care is a five-star rated child care, after school, and summer camp program for children six weeks of age through twelve years of age.  Hominy Child Care has the capacity to serve one hundred and forty children in our various programs. 

Hominy Child Care utilizes Creative Curriculum for our child care center focusing on the educational and developmental needs of the children.  Teachers provide regular communication to families on developmental progress. 

Hominy Child Care provides spiritual opportunities through our music program, and chapel time with the children.  These programs are led by our Minister of Music and Creative Worship, and our Pastor to Families. 

The center is open year round, full time, excluding holidays, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Tuition costs are outlined in our parent handbook, which you will receive when you tour the facility.  We do provide discount opportunities based on family income and size.  Hominy Child Care also works closely with Buncombe County and Haywood County subsidy, as well as the Buncombe County Partnership for Children for additional funding opportunities for children.   

Hominy Child Care utilizes the USDA food program for the childcare center providing breakfast, lunch, and snack to the children.  The after school program provides snack for the students.  The summer program receives breakfast, lunch, and snack, from Buncombe County Schools under their USDA program. 

After school is available to the students who attend Candler Elementary, Enka Intermediate School, and Enka Middle School, from mid-August to mid-June, depending on the school calendar. 

Summer camp is available to students in the entire Enka district from mid-June to mid-August.  A wonderful calendar of events is scheduled each summer for the students ranging from educational outings, swimming, water parks, putt putt, movies, bowling, the lake, Nature Center, and other specialty outings.      

Hominy Child Care is a Covid certified facility.
