The Birds Nests
Ancient legends claim that birds’ nests are signs of health and good fortune throughout the year. But we know that these things are blessings from God Who meets our every need and provides us with comfort and peace. In the gospel of Matthew we read: “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Also we read in Psalm 84 “Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, Lord, Almighty, my King and my God.” “Look at the birds of the air. They don’t plant or harvest their own food, yet our heavenly Father feeds them.” Each of our sanctuary trees have a small birds nest inside. May these nests be a reminder of God’s goodness, care, and provision.
