Lenten Vespers: Each Sunday evening during Lent, all are invited to join in Lenten Vespers….begin your week with this quiet, reflective oasis of worship. These brief (20-30 minute) services are intentionally designed to give you an anchor as you prepare to start a busy week, to re-focus your life on God during Lent, and provide a quiet, calming, prayerful, healing atmosphere for worship and reflection. Lenten Vespers will be held at 7 pm on Sunday evenings (March 5, 12, 19, 26 and April 2 and 9) in the Bennett classroom behind the sanctuary. Loosely modeled in the Taizé (teh-zay) prayer/worship style, Lenten Vespers will invite us to rest in God’s presence through candlelight, silence, reading of scripture, singing of simple Psalms and chants, and opportunities for individual and corporate prayer. Each Vespers service will begin with a reflective video and will lead us into a time of praying through themes of darkness, uncertainty, emptiness, feeling lost, temptation, journey, and the light of Christ the Redeemer. All ages are welcomed and you are invited to participate at any level in which you feel comfortable.
